Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individual for a Project Manager / Water Resources Scientist to join our growing team of water resources engineers and scientists in Overland Park, Kansas. The ideal candidate will be personally driven to achieve goals, detail oriented to complete actions, and personable to work with teams of subject matter experts. Work will occur within a team environment to achieve client goals, provide program vision, and execute projects related to flood risk data development to enhance community resiliency.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously during the various processes of Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor, and Closeout.
- Lead and communicate with teams of technical subject matter experts to execute project scope of work with high quality and meeting Stantec’s and client’s expectations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, files, and perform status reporting to clients.
- Track and monitor resource allocations and workload projections on a portfolio of projects.
- Provide analysis and management of project risks to proactively mitigate to prevent issues.
- Work with clients and stakeholders to integrate best practices into existing and future projects.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with a variety of stakeholders from local, state, and federal government as well as community-based organizations, non-profit organizations, and private entities.
- Travel 10% of the time.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong knowledge and proven application of project management principals and earned value management.
- Excellence in data analysis and reporting project status or program status to leadership.
- Relevant experience in working with multi-disciplinary project team.
- Experience with developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders is a significant asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency with project management or data analytics software is a significant asset.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical content to leadership personnel, clients, or community officials.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied sciences, geography, or planning is required.
- Post-graduate degree or certificate with specialization in project management or floodplain management is expected.
- 5-10 years of work experience in flood risk analysis and mapping projects, project management, or project controls.
