Your Opportunity
The Electrical Project Designer/Engineer performs technical duties under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager. Understands and identifies project requirements and performs independent technical work on basic and advanced tasks within one’s own discipline. Provides guidance to Designers on completion of duties.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develops electrical design and assessment opportunities for clients
- Develops advanced systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision; this includes the ability to offer solutions to general technical problems
- Works in conjuction with senior project engineer to prepare project deliverables per the client’s intent and scope of work in the proposal.
- Follows the quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer;
- Performs duties to assist or act as the project manager as follows:
- Gives input or creates plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget, identifies required precursors from other disciplines in a timely fashion.
- Fully understands and advises clients of company’s service offerings.
- Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget.
- Identifies and reports potential roadblocks and competing client and co-worker priorities that may inhibit the ability to maintain the project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develops understanding of company’s accounting and project management systems.
- Participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth (e.g. attend meetings / seminars / conferences).
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Extensive experience with Microsoft programs/tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Possess basic knowledge of engineering practices within own discipline.
- Knowledgeable of accepted design and construction concepts, practices and procedures.
- Able to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures and government regulations.
- Proficient in applicable software (i.e., CAD and Revit).
- Exhibits effective communication skills to communicate the scope and coordinate tasks with vendors and co-workers.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical design and consulting for tenant improvement projects, new construction buildings, central plant work, existing facility upgrades or related markets.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft programs/tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred (to receive Engineer title).
- Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
