Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Contaminated Land)
About the role
Our Environment & Geosciences team provides strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental management challenges. Due to continued growth in our pipeline of work, we are currently seeking to appoint an Environmental Scientist or Engineer in our Perth office, with work from home and other flexibility options. Reporting to the Principal, you will engage in multiple facets of environmental engineering/consulting investigation and reporting techniques, develop skills in relevant software programs and work with industry leading professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on wide variety of projects that you will see till completion.
Day to day tasks would involve:
- Scoping and design of contaminated land and groundwater investigations
- Conducting field testing and sampling for environmental investigations including soil, vapour, surface water, wastewater and groundwater assessments
- Conducting flood studies
- Preparing proposals, reports and management plans

To be successful for this role you’ll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science/Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated experience within the field of contaminated land assessment and/or environmental assessment and approvals within an engineering consultancy
- Demonstrated experience in site supervision, managing site investigations and various sampling methods including soil and groundwater
- Knowledge of environmental drawing techniques, field work assignment methodologies and processes
- Knowledge of NEPM as well as health & safety best practice principles
- Demonstrated experience in use of relevant software e.g Tuflow
- Valid/current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to sites for field work
This position includes both office and field work and applicants must be physically able to stand and work in the field.
