Your Opportunity

This is an exciting full-time position working within our Environmental Services business operating unit. The position will be joining an existing team, which will allow for ample professional development and mentorship. Our group supports multiple business lines, but this position will be primarily focused on FEMA Floodplain Mapping/Water Resources across the United States. The selected candidate will preferably be located near our Lexington (KY), Louisville (KY), Nashville (TN), Houston (TX), or Raleigh (NC) offices.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design and management of GIS databases along with the compiling of geographic information to support specific GIS project tasks.
  • Developing high-quality cartographic work products both in the desktop and web environments.
  • Conduct simple to complex spatial analyses using both vector and raster data types to provide insights into environmental, planning, and engineering project tasks.
  • Design and configuration of mobile data collection workflows using Esri-specific mobile applications.
  • Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes.
  • Use geospatial technologies and analysis to creatively solve challenges for our clients

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Familiarity with the Esri ArcGIS Platform (i.e., ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online).
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and/or Portal to publish project sensitive data within custom web maps and applications for consumption by project teams, the client and/or public.
  • Experience configuring Esri mobile data collection applications (e.g., ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, QuickCapture) to meet a wide variety of project field data collection needs.
  • Familiar with both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and understand how assigned tasks relate to overall project goals.
  • Ability to working in a multi office team environment
  • Ability to work with a variety of people and professions with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
  • Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors or an advanced degree in GIS, geology, geomatics, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework.
  • 0 to 3 years of demonstrated professional work experience performing GIS tasks. An equivalent combination of recent education and job experience may be sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties.
  • Familiarity with python scripting will be considered valuable.
  • Awareness of the Floodplain Mapping, Environmental Services, Power & Dams, Mining, and Oil and Gas industry sectors will be considered a strength but is not required.
