Your Opportunity

In this position as a Junior Land Development CAD Technologist, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team on exciting land development projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment and learn new skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Use Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D and other tools to complete drafting of construction drawings, site plans, figures and other product deliverables.
  • Assist designer in the geometric design of roadways, utility networks, storm ponds and site grading.  
  • Assist designer in the design of surface, sanitary, storm, water, and irrigation pipe networks.
  • Prepare plan/ profile drawings of roadways in AutoCAD.
  • Prepare drawings in Autoturn to simulate accurate turning movements
  • Work in a collaborative team environment with project managers, engineers, designers, and construction staff.
  • Use knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including 2D and 3D model development, completing design changes redlining, plotting, and drafting using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Prepare drawings, sketches and notes for projects, and redlines and plans for submittal.
  • Assisting in resolution of technical issues on construction sites.
  • Performs quality control of construction drawings for peers & oneself 
  • Provides design and drafting ideas and solutions.

 

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D to prepare drawings and figures.
  • Working knowledge of codes and design requirements.
  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and take direction as required.
  • Eager to learn new skills and participate in discussions as a team.
  • Detail oriented and take pride in your work.
  • Diligently follows through on commitments and consistently complete assignments by deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Strong communication skills and willing to collaborate with multiple teams/ team members
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma program or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam Revu or Adobe

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
