Your Opportunity

The role of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)/ Project Manager is to lead and conduct site assessment, remedial investigation, and remedial action support in a safe manner for complex environmental remediation projects at sites located primarily in New Jersey with multi-media contamination that may include coal tar, solvents, fuels, metals, PCBs and PFAS.  You will also support proposal efforts, develop work plans, draft technical documents, and interact directly with clients to implement steps to move projects toward closure in the most cost-effective manner.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Health & Safety Plans, develop work scope, schedule, and budget definition for proposals.
  • Plan and manage the execution of work, including management of project staff and subcontractor procurement.
  • Interact with clients to determine remedial investigation/action programs to address clients’ needs.
  • Interact with regulatory agencies to negotiate courses of action and advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Review subcontractor submittals including proposals, work plans, health and safety plans, and quality control plans.
  • Manage multi-media sampling efforts, including soil, groundwater, vapor, indoor air, and other regulated materials.
  • Manage oversight and coordination efforts in response to spills, alarms, or other client requests.
  • Manage oversight of subcontractors, including utility locators, drillers, remediation contractors, surveyors, and emergency response contractors
  • Evaluate compliance of subcontractor work against technical specifications and scopes of work
  • Demonstrate competency in a combination of areas including field supervision, technical knowledge, task management, project management, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct complex scientific assessment and analysis.
  • Prepare remedial investigation reports, remedial/corrective action plans, remedial designs, due diligence reports, and related documents that include work summaries, data summaries, engineering calculations, summary tables, figures, engineering drawings and specifications, and report text.
  • Manage project costs and schedules.
  • Employ Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work.
  • Assignments/projects are advanced in nature and require the application of advanced knowledge.
  • Responsible for planning and conducting assignments/projects having broad scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult tasks.
  • Provide supervision, training, technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.
  • Execute specific technical tasks or requirements for medium to large projects.
  • Conduct peer reviews of routine and moderately complex work by colleagues or junior practitioners.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Knowledge of Federal and State (primarily New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act) environmental rules, regulations and guidance, and application of remediation standards and technologies.
  • Knowledge of manufactured gas plant, refinery, and rail yard operations.
  • Promote policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as applicable)
  • Advanced skills in technical writing.
  • Sound skills in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, government regulators and agencies, and academia, as well as non-technical communication to the public.
  • Proven ability to provide written and verbal direction on project delivery.
  • Strong commitment to client service and strong reputation among clients and peers for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise.
  • Champion new ideas and initiatives and create an environment that supports creativity and innovation.
  • Maintain productive professional and personal networking relationships.
  • Drive collaborative efforts within the region and beyond to deliver consistent, high quality and appropriately scoped technical work.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card) is required for access to jobsites and candidates must meet Federal TSA background check criteria and be able to obtain a TWIC Card.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively more responsible experience successfully managing technically complex projects and achieving site closures.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.
  • Pre-employment physical is required.
