Mechanical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and friendly Sydney Mechanical team. The role is suitable for a qualified candidate who has Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.
We are looking for someone that is able to work on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload on several projects at different stages of completion. You will regularly attend client facing meetings and have good consulting skills.

Day to day tasks would involve:
• Support the design, planning and delivery of HVAC systems on a wide range of healthcare, commercial, data centres, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.
• Demonstrate technical engineering knowledge of heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation
• Support Project Technical Leaders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standard.
• Conduct Site inspections, monitoring installations, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems
• Assist in HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standards
• Contribute to tender submissions and project reporting
• Bring value to in-house design/project meetings
• Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need:
• Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent
• Ideally have 3-5+ years previous HVAC design engineering experience in Consulting within the Building services industry
• Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
• Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD or other similar industry software
• Willingness to establish and maintain client relationships to formulate repeat opportunities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
• Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
