Your Opportunity
Stantec’s Science + Technology Practice seeks to find a talented Project Architect to join our San Francisco Bay Area Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all phases of planning and design of academic and corporate science facilities. You will be managing and developing client relationships and working with senior laboratory planners and Stantec Engineering to develop and grow your skill sets in this role. We are looking for teammates who can create and foster solutions, maintain a fast-paced mindset, and are interested in growing within an emerging practice.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Play a key leadership role and be an essential part of a project team working on all phases of a design project from Programming and Schematic Design through Construction Administration in the Academic and Corporate Science & Technology sector.
- Demonstrate technical skills on major projects.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Determine staffing needs, recommend personnel, and motivate project teams.
- Develop, review, and approve proposals, reports, and contract documents in accordance with Stantec policy.
- Lead project coordination and site meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors.
- Work with teams across multiple Stantec offices.
- Participate in Stantec Project Management Frameworks Training.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, competitor/teaming partners, and potential recruits.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: higher education, science and technology, and workplace.
- Demonstrated design acumen and leadership on major projects.
- Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization, coordination, leadership, team-building and managerial skills.
- Proven leadership in guiding teams through projects utilizing Revit or AutoCAD for documentation.
- Substantial experience in contributing to LEED-certified Science + Technology projects or Science + Technology initiatives with a focus on sustainability. Possession of a LEED credential is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts.
- Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participate in business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts.
- Strong Microsoft Excel formatting skills.
Education and Experience
- Registered Architect (California registration desired).
- 8+ years of experience working with multi-discipline teams with working knowledge on science and technology project, ex. Vivarium, cGMP, cleanrooms, R&D labs, etc.
