Your Opportunity
Our GTA based team is currently seeking a Transportation Engineering - Senior Project Manager (Detailed Design and Environmental Assessments) to join our team of project managers, technical staff, and multi-discipline specialists in the completion of transit/rail projects. You will lead a team of professionals in the design and construction of large-scale projects in our growing roads and transit-based sector. The projects will be in various phases from environmental assessments and conceptual planning, through design, construction, and occupancy.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects as a PM for Environmental Assessments and Detailed Design Projects. Managing the approved scope, budget and schedule are of utmost importance.
- Lead the Design Team consisting of the Engineers, Scientists, Planners, Coordinators, Schedulers, and other consultants.
- Create innovative ideas and approaches to re-evaluate and improve our business.
- Promoting and overseeing our safety program and overall safety culture.
- Day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.
- Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
- Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and equipment vendors.
- Leadership and oversite of our safety program, quality reviews, plan reviews and inspections.
- Understand and assist in the negotiation of contracts of all parties to the project.
- Oversee approval all invoices and change orders associated with the project.
- Evaluate, advise on and assist in resolving disputes and claims.
- Regular collaboration with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design office
- Financial management of projects and resource allocation
- Business development support and leading proposal development.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Project Management Professional Designation PMP is an asset.
- Excellent communication and Leadership skills (verbal and written) as well as good relationship building skills with respect to your interactions with team members, clients, and contractors
- Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines while work independently
- A strong work ethic with the desire to excel, inspire and to achieve
- Willingness to learn and a motivated team player
Education and Experience
- 15+ years of experience in Environmental Assessment Process and Approvals, Conceptual Design. Engineering, Technical Advisory Related Work, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent degree.
- Civil Engineering Technology diploma or university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or approved equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registered Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario PEO or with The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians.
