About the role

Stantec’s Transport Planning and Advisory team partners with its clients to provide traffic and transport solutions for the community and we are currently seeking a Team Leader/ Principal Transport Engineer to join our team based in Sydney. 

  

As Team Leader, you will provide leadership to ensure alignment to company strategy, initiatives, vision, and culture. You will be the advocate of the business both internally within Stantec and externally to clients and professional organisations within the region. The Team Leader position is a function, in addition to an employee’s substantive technical/ project contribution role as a Principal Transport Engineer.

   

You will be responsible for undertaking and delegating a range of responsibilities, from; complex problem solving and innovation, information analysis, SIDRA analytics, report writing and client engagement and liaison. You will ensure your team is fully utilised on projects and work closely with project managers to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that the team is trained and appropriately skilled.  

   

We are currently working on some exciting projects that include:

  • Social Infrastructure
  • Flagship Retail
  • Major urban infill
  • Growth area master planning 
  • Rail and Road Infrastructure
  • Stadia and major event planning
  • A range of commercial, retail, residential and industrial land uses.

    

To be successful for this role you'll need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of transport engineering experience within a consulting environment
  • Strong capability to manage workload and deliver projects
  • Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders 
  • Collaborative approach to work and team mentality along with managing staff.
