Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Receptionist for our Dartmouth, NS office, to provide high level front desk, administration and customer service support. This is a permanent full-time position.
As the face and voice of Stantec, the successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in a similar role, have a high degree of professionalism and corporate communication skills, be professionally presented, have superior organizational skills with the ability to focus on multiple tasks and changing priorities and have a mature approach and confidence in dealing with a wide range of clients (both internal and external) and business partners.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Create a great first impression, and interface in a professional and positive manner while greeting clients and vendors both in person and over the phone, including managing the visitor registration process.
• Answer a multiline phone system and effectively route calls.
• Handle conference room and hoteling workspace scheduling.
• Shipping and receiving couriers/mail, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
• Maintain the office security, access badges and records.
• Assisting teams with catering requests.
• Assist with meeting set-ups/clean-ups as requested.
• Maintain the reception area and lunchroom area.
• Respond to staff needs in a timely and effective manner.
• Other duties, as assigned
Your Capabilities and Credentials
• The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of professional experience operating in an administrative office support/receptionist capacity with demonstrated skill to support a business effectively.
• Computer proficiency, especially within the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
• The ability to lift 15-25lbs (office supplies, cases of paper) - Excellent customer service skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure, deal with difficult situations and/or people, take initiative, demonstrate organizational and detail-oriented skills and juggle multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.
• A positive, proactive attitude, high-energy level, flexibility, dependability, and willingness to learn new skills.
• Handle confidential material with discretion and integrity.
• Previous experience with Transportation of Dangerous Goods is considered an asset.
Education and Experience
A High School Diploma in addition to some higher education and/or work experience equivalent.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long period of time. Field work may include exposure to elements including inclement weather.
